Why is The Hobbit not included in the Lord of the Rings trilogy? This is a conflict I have come to a screeching halt to find the answer. The first book of this outstanding trilogy Fellowship of the Ring which I haven't read much of already refers back to the book The Hobbit so it's almost the 60 pages I have read. So if J.R.R Tolkien were still alive I would ask him,  "Why would you consider The Hobbit not a part of your epic trilogy?"
