I believe that the electoral college should still be the way we vote for our leaders, but I also believe that it does need to change. It gives rights to people but in large ways sometimes, take them away.
I do agree with the electoral college having the 270 out of 538 vote in the president elections but the electors should not be able to choose their own candidate, I believe that they need to go by the popular vote of the states citizens because if the electors can randomly choose their candidates that would be denying the rights of the citizens in that state. For instance of presidents chosen by the electoral college and not the people is George Bush (2000-2008). He won both terms by the electoral college's votes, look what he has done to our country, and other countries around the world! But i must think to myself, there are at least slight flaws in every form of government so the electoral college still follows that simple fact of humanitarian life.
Now for the good parts of the electoral college when it represents the peoples rights. it give each and every state equal representation instead of popular vote where states like California would have their votes overthrow Wyoming's. Also the electoral college knows what their states needs so if they are representing their citizens and not their own vote they will vote for what their citizens want, and what their citizens need over their opinion.
Overall I believe that the electoral college is a exceptional way to elect our leaders, even though it has its flaws on peoples rights, which I hope to correct those flaws to make the electoral college an already great thing even more great. :D

Why Martians and some random dudes boring personal life dont mix
Right now I'm reading war of the worlds, i am an alien fanatic, i love district nine, the alien aliens movie series, and i have watched the original V and i am watching the new story addition of V. But in War of the Worlds is famous for its aliens right, but there is very little talk of aliens in action. Even the talk of heat rays frying cities is still overrun by this guys personal life. About his wife who was probably fried. But yeah this guy is so boring, he just is running not even thinking to fight, its retarded, im thinking of putting the book down and using it as fire fuel.

Why love stories and gore and black magic don't mix
Okay so I recently read the last book of one of my favorite trilogies The Icemark Chronicles: The Last Battle of the Icemark. In this book the violence and black magic is more and more as the evil Cronus rises again, but sadly the mushy love stories increase as well. One of the main characters and protagonist Cressida Lindenshield falls in love with the Polypotain Generals son Ledionus or something like that I can't remember most of the Polypotain names. The love story is mushy and interrupts the violence, gore, and black magic which makes this story extraordinary for me. Why Stuart Hill my favorite author why add this completely not germane theme in this book?
Answer to Ms. Clear's Blog post about The Pearl's smybolism
The music of the pearl disappearing means that the pearl is gone, that song isn't needed anymore. The pearl made great suffering to Kino's family including killing of Kino and Juana's only so, Coyotito the memory of what the song was being thrown away like the pearl in the sea. The Pearl symbolizes a gift that comes with a price, like the poison apple in snow white and the seven dwarves. Snow White she's getting an apple as a gift to eat and she ends up dieing from it once she takes a bite. The pearl easily had it's screaming effects on the society of the town and the native village. This pearl forces a doctor to try to kill Coyotito with a poison, for three professional killers to track and kill Coyotito in the act. It makes Kino life becomes a crumbling mess while his mind is twisted even more so. The town wants this great pearl just so they can be richer with more unneeded money. The village doesn't want the pearl, they want what the pearl can do, to lead them out of poverty and discrimination.
Why is The Hobbit not included in the Lord of the Rings trilogy? This is a conflict I have come to a screeching halt to find the answer. The first book of this outstanding trilogy Fellowship of the Ring which I haven't read much of already refers back to the book The Hobbit so it's almost the 60 pages I have read. So if J.R.R Tolkien were still alive I would ask him, "Why would you consider The Hobbit not a part of your epic trilogy?"

The opinion of the Pearl
The pearl is definitely a book that is a message for humanity. The book tells people that greed is the thing that can change a person's life in seconds, well besides death. Kino was a peaceful, kind man who loved his life as a discriminated, poor, Native Mexican. But once Kino finds this pearl, the inhumanly beautiful treasure, this is a phenomenon in his people's history. But this pearl that can change the most lucid people by making them making fantasies. Kino's dreams turn into nightmares as the pearl starts bringing treacherous events. In the end Kino's rage, greed, and dreams make him harm his wife, kill four people, and kill his only son. I personally didn't like this book because it reminded me of the evil parts of human nature. Why focus on the evil when we can focus on good of human characteristics and why kill off an innocent baby because his father couldn't keep his hands off his 'great pearl'. I liked the writing style though it made you feel like you were in the desperation and I almost cried when Coyotito died.
